2. System Requirements

Active@ KillDisk works with :

  • DOS
  • Windows 7
  • Windows Vista
  • Windows XP / 2000 / NT / XP Professional x64 / XP Home x64 2003 Server x64
  • Linux
  • Unix for PC etc...

This chapter outlines the minimum requirements for PCs using Active@ KillDisk for Hard Drives.

2.1 Personal Computer  

Windows DOS
IBM PC/AT compatible CPU
Operates with processors Intel Pentium or higher Operates with processors as old as Intel 286
300 MB of RAM 640 Kb of RAM
Video must be VGA or better resolution (800x600) Video must be EGA or better resolution

2.2 Drive Storage System  

Windows DOS
CD or DVD-ROM drive 1.44 Mb USB / floppy drive or CD-ROM drive
Hard Disk Drive type SSD (solid state drive), IDE, ATA, SATA or SCSI with controllers (additional drivers could be loaded for RAIDs or non-standard controllers after system booted up) Hard Disk Drive type SSD (solid state drives), IDE, ATA, SATA or SCSI with controllers

2.3 Other Requirements  

Windows DOS
A blank CD or DVD to burn an ISO image One blank 3.5-inch or 5.25-inch USB / floppy suitable for formatting or a blank CD to burn an ISO image
  Alternately use a Windows 95/98/ME Startup Disk
